Record Number of Events at LYIT
| by Irene Heavey | |
LYIT students and staff have organised over 25 activities in 9 months for numerous different charities. There are a further 4 major charity events to come, including the North West 10K, Strictly Come Dancing, a student trip to Malawi with Habitat for Humanity, and a Campus to Campus cycle. Paul Hannigan, President, “I am staggered at the number of charity events which are taking place on campus. Despite a tough climate, students are using their initiative and time to generate funds for many worthy causes. There has always been a strong sense of altruism here amongst staff and I would like to thank everyone who has dedicated their efforts in organising these activities.” Some of the charities who have benefited so far are: The Garden of Eden project in Thailand, Habitat for Humanity (Malawi), Letterkenny General Hospital, Children’s Hospital Crumlin |
