Building Capacity and Enhancing Quality Through Participatory Research

This community-based research initiative looks at How best to involve clients more meaningfully in the development of service provision. The overall goals of the partnership between NUIG and COPE were to:

Enable COPE Galway to use research to enhance the quality of services provision

Provide staff with an introduction to participatory research skills for use in their practice

Empower clients to make informed choices to influence service provision

Enable staff, clients and researchers to engage more effectively, positively and proactively

Promote mutual understanding between the academic community and the voluntary sector
