The primary goal of RAISE is to place student engagement (SE) at the centre of policies and practices in Higher Education. Many staff and students have taken this challenge on; however, opportunities for all students to really engage are not yet as widespread as we would wish, and thus this is our main theme for 2014.
Sub-themes
- Staff: A focus on practices by staff designed to deepen and strengthen student engagement at all levels from class to sector-wide. We are particularly interested in work addressing the challenge of engaging staff in the SE agenda
- Students: A focus on partnerships with students; curricular or extra-curricular, collective or individual. We are particularly interested in work that creates opportunities for many students, and also work on evaluating the success of initiatives.
- Community: A focus on initiatives on enabling involvement of students in communities and fostering belonging in and around the university.
