The Centre for Effective Services (CES) is a not for profit, intermediary organisation established in 2008, with offices in Dublin and Belfast. CES works across a range of government departments and agencies, not-for-profit and community organisations to improve outcomes for communities, children, young people and families. We connect policy, practice and research, helping to ensure the implementation of effective services, to improve the lives of people living across the island of Ireland.
CES has a staff complement of 33 multi-disciplinary professionals drawn from various specialist areas, including community development, research, psychology, social work, youth work, public health, organisation development and knowledge and communications. We also run a Graduate Internship Programme to develop capacity and expertise within the sector and have 7 participating graduates in 2015.
CES is currently recruiting for the following position:
Research Coordinator ( Fixed Term, Part Time contract)
In 2015, the Children’s Research Network for Ireland and Northern Ireland (CRNINI) was integrated with CES to allow it to avail of CES‘s facilities in support of its projects. The Network wishes to appoint a Research Coordinator on a full time basis to support its work in the creation of a key national resource to assist further research into prevention and early intervention.
The successful candidate will have extensive experience in research relating to children and / or young people, ideally in a team setting together with a post graduate qualification at doctoral level. He/she will have a track record in publications, including academic and report writing, organising and contributing to seminars and training events, and an ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders. He/She should be self motivated and have the ability to work on their own initiative.
CES offers a competitive remuneration package and the opportunity to make demonstrable improvements to the lives of citizens. The post will be based in either Belfast or Dublin and some other travel may be required due to the all –island focus of CRNINI’s work. The post is part- time (18.75 hours per week) and will be offered on the basis of a 12 month Fixed Term contract or until 30th June 2017, whichever is the earlier.
