University College Cork’s Community Academic Research Links (CARL)

Community-Academic Research Links is an initiative at UCC which provides independent research support to Civil Society Organisations, e.g. community and voluntary groups, in the region.

The research is undertaken by undergraduate and postgraduate students in collaboration with the community partners across a wide range of disciplines and usually free of charge. CARL has developed a 5 credit module for postgraduate students which will expose them to the principles and practices of community based participatory research and provide them with an authentic CBR experience in the form of a time-bound project with a community partner.
