Campus Engage Community-based Learning Leader to Visit Tufts

In collaboration with the New England Resource Center for Higher Education (NERCHE), the Talloires Network is proud to welcome Lorraine McIlrath to Tufts University. She will headline two campus events focused on the concept of the civic university and on community engagement benchmarking and performance measurements.

For the next EASST conference - Situating Solidarities: social challenges for science and technology studies (17 - 19 September 2014, Torun, Poland) - we plan a session on stakeholder involvement. This includes CSO involvement, of course. We invite you to submit an abstract for it.

NUIG ALIVE to award 865 Student Volunteers,1 April in 11th ALIVE ceremony, presented by Senator Hildegarde Naughton

On the 1st April 2014, the ALIVE Programme (A Learning Initiative and the Volunteering Experience) at NUI Galway will celebrate 11 years of student volunteering. This year 865 students will attain the prestigious certificate for volunteering efforts both on and off campus in a range of clubs, societies and community-based organisations. This year Senator Hildegarde Naughton will officiate at the event to be held on campus at the Bailey Allen Hall at 11.30am.

GIANFRANCO MARTINI Scholarship

The Association of Local Democracy Agencies (ALDA) has decided to set up an annual scholarship in memory of its Honorary President, Gianfranco Martini, who passed away in October 2012. Gianfranco Martini was among the initiators of the concept of Local Democracy Agencies and became the first President of ALDA when it was founded in 1999.
