The first calls in Horizon 2020 are published


The European Commission has presented calls for projects under Horizon 2020. Worth more than €15 billion over the first two years, the funding is intended to help boost Europe's knowledge-driven economy, and tackle issues that will make a difference in people's lives.
For the first time, the Commission has indicated funding priorities over two years, providing researchers and businesses with more certainty than ever before on the direction of EU research policy.

UL Diploma in Community Wellness, Empowerment, Leadership and Lifeskills (CWELL)

A new programme, ‘Diploma in Community Wellness, Empowerment, Leadership and Lifeskills (CWELL)’ developed and run in partnership by the University of Limerick and St Mary’s Community was officially launched on Tuesday 26th November, 2013. Interested parties and members of the public gathered to attend the launch event which took place at King John’s Castle, 7pm, Tuesday 26th November.

Civic Engagement Module at NUI Galway 2014

NUI Galway is delighted to be able to offer places on the Civic Engagement module as part of the PG Diploma in Academic Practice commencing on:

  • 9th January 2014;
  • 23rd January 2014;

  • 6th March 2014;
  • 20th March 2014.

An end of term Presentation Day will be held in June 2014 (date TBC) (1pm to 4pm) in the Arts Millennium Building at NUI Galway.

CARDI- 1 Million EURO Boost for Ageing Research

The Centre for Ageing Research and Development in Ireland has launched a programme to promote ageing research over the next three years. It will fund five top quality researchers to create the next generation of leaders in research on older people and ageing issues.

The CARDI Fellows will be post-doctoral researchers who will study a topic related to healthy ageing and take part in training and development activities to build up their independence and leadership.
