UCD introduces its newly established UCD in the Community Team!

As well as welcoming close to 5,000 new students in September, 2016, UCD is also excited to introduce its newly established UCD in the community team!

The team have been recently established to support UCD in its commitment to civic and community engagement strategy and the National Campus Engage Charter -  to create a space that is conducive to support students and staff to deliver social impact from their work. 

Campus Engage and IRC Engaged Research National Consultations coming to a location near you! 

During September and October 2016 the Campus Engage Engaged Research Working Group will be consulting as widely as possible with stakeholders, including academic staff, CSOs, funding agencies, policy officials and others, to gather information on engaged research challenges and enablers, case studies, impact, methods & techniques, and how to establish effective civic and civil society partnerships.

ReelLIFE SCIENCE Schools Video Competition 2016

The ReelLIFE SCIENCE Schools Video Competition is back for 2016, with €3000 on offer for primary and post-primary students and teachers with a passion for Science. Schools are challenged to communicate a science topic (e.g How Things Work, The Heart, Irish Science Heroes) to the public via a short animated or live action video. Closing date is Friday October 14th. ReelLIFE SCIENCE is supported by Science Foundation Ireland and the CURAM Centre for Research in Medical Devices. More information at www.reellifescience.com.

Masters Research Scholarship Opportunities at IT Tralee

One of them is: "Designing and evaluating the impact of an inclusive aquatic training programme for aquatic tutors and teachers".

Registration now open for NCCPE UK Engage 2016, Bristol 29th & 30th November

The NCCPE UK team are calling for contributions to Engage 2016, which will take place on the 29th & 30th November in Bristol. Encouraging new ways of thinking about engagement and how to support it, the conference will provide stimulation and challenge, inspiring us to develop high quality practice. The conference will also feature the finalists of this year’s Engage competition, which is now closed for applications.

CAROLINE is a POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP programme co-financed by the Irish Research Council and the European Commission under Marie Curie Sklodowska Actions COFUND. The programme is entitled CAROLINE - ‘Collaborative Research Fellowships for a Responsive and Innovative Europe’.
