Extended Campus was established in 2011 as an interface or facilitator, to create and support links between CIT, enterprise and community groups. Extended Campus strives to assist companies in meeting their business needs through the activities, facilities and resources on hand at CIT. Extended Campus’ mission is to engage more with the public, and showcase the mutual benefits that can arise when higher education and enterprise work together. Enterprise and community groups typically tend to interact, or engage with, CIT across a spectrum of activities, such as: Work Placement; Customised Learning Solutions; Research and Development. There are also many other examples of engagement that occur between CIT, enterprise and the community. Extended Campus is committed to supporting the existing points of engagement, whilst also creating new ways of working with enterprise where mutual synergies can arise.
