UCD Offer Students New Community, Volunteering & Leadership Module

This community-based learning module provides students with an opportunity to reflect in a structured way on their learning from their volunteering and community experience(s). Students should have prior and on-going experience of volunteering.

New Irish Research Council – Campus Engage Engaged Research Project Launched

Campus Engage has signed a new Memorandum of Understanding with the Irish Research Council to provide a number of products and services to build capacity in engaged research across the sector. This will be based on the high level recommendations of the recently launched engaged research report, Engaged Research, Society and Higher Education, Addressing Grand Social Challenges Together.

Higher Education Consultation on New National Social Enterprise and Innovation Strategy for Ireland

Campus Engage hosted the Department of Rural & Community Development – Higher Education Consultation to inform a new National Policy for Social Enterprise:

Work is currently underway on research to support the development of a National Policy on Social Enterprise due to be launched Spring 2018.  The research is an initiative of the Department of Rural and Community Development and the Social Finance Foundation.

Campus Engage Steering Committee Welcomes new Objectives and Indicators set out in the Higher Education Systems Performance Framework, 2018-2020

Ministers Bruton & Mary Mitchell O'Connor launched the Higher Education System Performance Framework on 15th January 2018.

The Campus Engage Steering Committee welcomed the publication of the report, and the positioning of higher education engagement prominently in the ‘key performance objectives’ language, and ‘performance indictors’ listed in the new Framework.

Talloires Network MacJannet Prize Call for Nominations!

The Talloires Network is proud to announce the ninth annual MacJannet Prize for Global Citizenship. The prize will recognize exceptional student civic engagement initiatives based in Talloires Network engaged member universities around the world and contribute financially to their ongoing public service efforts.

Summer Grants for Undergraduates in Ireland to Study Civic Engagement in the USA

Undergraduate students are invited to apply for Study of the U.S. Institutes (SUSIs) for European Students. During June-July 2018, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to examine Civic Engagement in the U.S, hosted by the University of South Carolina.

This grant includes airfare, tuition and fees, lodging and meals at the host university, a daily incidentals allowance, visa sponsorship, and a range of academic and cultural programming.
