NUI Galway
21st April, 2010
12:30 - 14:00
Paul Manners from the Beacons for Public Engagement Project will offer a CKI lunchtime seminar entitled ‘Creating a manifesto for public engagement' on Wednesday 21st April 2010 from 12.30pm to 2pm in The CELT Training Room, AM207, Arts Millennium Building, NUI Galway.
Description of Seminar: The National Coordinating Centre for Public Engagement (NCCPE) was set up in 2008, as part of the four-year Beacons for Public Engagement Project. Funded by The Research Councils UK (RCUK), The Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE), The Higher Education Funding Council for Wales (HEFCW), The Scottish Funding Council (SFC) and the Wellcome Trust the initiative's purpose is to model how universities can embed public engagement in their work. As part of its role to engage the wider Higher Education sector, the NCCPE is developing a manifesto for public engagement and a range of supporting resources, to encourage and support universities who wish to develop their commitment to engagement. In this seminar the NCCPE's Sophie Duncan and Paul Manners will invite feedback on the draft manifesto and the underlying rationale and framework that they have developed to support it.
